What we did

Why has so much research been directed at a perceived global warming pause? And what has been the effect on public perceptions of the apparent scientific acceptance of a pause?

Our story, entitled The global warming pause that never was, tells the story of how researchers examined the scientific literature and trends in global mean surface temperatures and found no meaningful statistical evidence to support the notion of a pause in global warming.

We read the journal article, interviewed Dr James Risbey and Professor Stephan Lewandowsky, wrote the story, sourced images and sought approvals.

The story was published in CSIRO’s ECOS blog in November 2015.
