Overview

Our workshop will help you develop skills in consulting with the community and partners about environmental or natural resource management issues. Our highly practical workshops include a mixture of case study exercises, role plays and consultation skill development activities.

Each workshop is tailored to your issues and consultancy planning needs. You will be able to develop at least part of a consultancy plan during the workshop, and will take away comprehensive notes and a proforma for developing your own consultation plan.

A highlight of the workshop is the involvement of key agency partners in the evening session on day one.

The workshop is designed around the four essential elements of consultation with partners and communities – principles, processes, planning and performance. These elements have been embedded in a 10-step workshop process.

This workshop will help you to:

  • understand the principles of effective consultation

  • learn how to plan effective consultation

  • develop and practice key consultation skills

  • start developing a consultation plan for a real or generic project

  • develop a better understanding of the role of the agency in community consultation.go to page top
