Services We offer the following services. Interpreting science, and natural and cultural attractions Building collaborative teams and networks
The best way to communicate is through stories—no matter who your audience! We specialise in writing stories that reflect the interests and information needs of your audience as well as the messages you want to get across. We tell the stories of people and places through media releases, feature articles, education kits, fact sheets, brochures, books, newsletters, ezines, websites, videos and photographs. Is your website boring? All organisational-speak? We use stories to produce web content tailored to the needs of your online readers. We also produce
feature articles for specific audiences and
publications—we would
love to join your research or field expedition.
Do your documents reflect the professional image you want to portray? Are they tailored for their audience? Is their purpose clear, their content and language appropriate, their structure logical, their mechanics perfect? Is your web content especially written or adapted for the web? We have the professional editing skills and experience to make your writing read well for its intended audience. We copy edit, we restructure and we completely rewrite. We edit for print and for the web. Words are
powerful tools—we
can help you choose the right ones.
Interpreting science, and natural and cultural attractions Do you need to translate complex ideas into something that is simple and immediately understandable? Do you want to convey these ideas in a display, visitor centre or interactive exhibit? We are skilled at developing and
implementing interpretive plans for science and museum exhibitions and interactive
displays. We are also experienced in nature-based recreation and
tourism experiences that require visitor centres, walking trails and
signage.
We can work with
you
to review your communication, determine communication strategies, plan
your communication, and test whether
it is meeting the needs of your partners as well as
achieving your objectives.
Building collaborative teams and networks Dr Michelle Riedlinger focused her PhD research on what makes collaborative networks or organisations work—both inside and out. And we have spent the past 10 years working with collaborative teams, helping them to communicate effectively internally and externally. We can help you develop a new collaborative network, review existing ones or advise on what the best procedures are if your collaboration is about to finish.
Do you need to develop more confidence in dealing with the media or giving a presentation or speech? We can help you and your group to develop media, presentation and communication skills in
our tailor-made workshops which are designed especially for
scientists,
natural resource managers, and
people working in technical fields.
Are you running a conference or media event? We can assist you with conference media management and with organising and/or promoting your event. Are you working with specific groups or the wider community in decision making? We can help you with your consultation process. We are skilled at designing, implementing, analysing and evaluating community and specialised consultation programs. We use advanced qualitative analysis techniques to explore and analyse the data collected during consultation exercises. We have recently translated our consultation experience into a training workshop and manual on best practice in community
consultation and engagement. Do you need to find out more about the people you want to communicate with? We are skilled at social research and use focus groups, surveys and interviews to find out more about the perceptions, needs and concerns of target communities, groups and individuals. We are also
adept at desktop and literature research that aims to find out the
latest information about trends, issues and recent relevant research.
