What we did

The Cultural Atlas of Australia is an interactive digital map that displays the places and locations that appear in iconic Australian films, novels and plays.

Cultural Atlas

Travellers, students and scholars can use the map to plot literary tours, visit film sites, or research landscapes and locations in Australian stories.

We worked with the University of Queensland project development team to promote the atlas and an accompanying set of ecological fact sheets.

Activities included:

  • developing a Facebook fan page and discussion board
  • writing several media releases to launch the atlas and the CultureMap mobile app
  • liasing with journalists to organise print and radio interviews for the developers and featured authors
  • monitoring media and social media coverage.
